New to C. Tassell of Chatham. During the First World War it was used for carrying troops and provisions to Salisbury Plain. Two loaded wagons were hauled. Sold to Scotts Sawmill in 1919 with the two traction trailers, it moved to Kemp Bros. of Rainham in 1927 and finished its working life in the mid 1950’s with C. Croucher who used it for threshing. The two trailers were converted to living vans and are still in existence. Purchased in 1980 by the late S.W.Neville who rallied it extensively both home and abroad until 1993. An extensive rebuild was carried out in 1996 by K. Honour, which included a new firebox and repaint. The present owner purchased the engine in October 2002 who has had further work carried out including a new set of gears by Jimmer Marsh, and a change of livery.
