Further Information:
Built for amusement caterers Anderton & Rowland who were renowned throughout the whole of the West Country for their fleet of mostly Burrell engines. Dragon was supplied to the firm on steel straked wheels and was very heavily embellished with brass work and has special swaged bands around the boiler lagging and brass stars. In later years it was overhauled by Fowler and new wheels were fitted with press-on solid rubber tyres. This engine has smaller rear wheels than standard, that gear the engine down on the road which is an advantage on West Country hills since many gradients could be tackled in the high gear, which with larger wheels would not have been possible without stopping to change gear.
