Built in Bedford, this is one of only two self moving engines that survive from the firm. Between 1916-1922 the engine worked for Baldwin Bros of Wadhurst, Sussex before standing out of use until it was purchased by the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan and was shipped to America. It remained on show there until purchased by the present owner in 1991 who returned it to this country and restored it over the next 8 years to the high standard we see today.
