Further information:
Sold new to Lt Col Miles Courage along with a sister engine. It passed through several owners until purchased by William Whitely of Ashburton, Devon, who was a keen huntsman. He controlled the movements of the engine from his horse, as it pulled logs out of the valley, the rope being returned by tractor. Because of the terrain, the tractor and engine never came within sight of each other. John Crawley purchased the engine in 1958, just too late to save the sister engine, which had been cut up for scrap.
