Further information:
Built for export to Australia with wider wheels than the English version and a colonial firebox, the engine was never exported. The first recorded owner was A. Hepher of Haddenham in 1924. One of only two Allchin compound engines remaining in the UK, this is only the second time they have been together since their working days with Briggs & Richards, contractors and engineers ending in the 1960’s.
