The engine was sold for scrap in 1950, but was bought back by B. Pumfrey in 1955 for preservation, attending its first event in 1957. The engine had been sold for £12 and was bought back for £25! Rallied until 1978 when the engine was sold to the late G. Wheeler, the famous steam artist. In 1987 disaster struck when the owners windmill was blown down on top of the engine causing much damage. The engine is now fully restored. |
