Hello and welcome

The Bedford Steam Engine Preservation Society was formed by a few stalwart steam enthusiasts on 27th February 1956 and has grown over the years into one of the largest preservation societies in the country. Our first steam rally was at Woburn Park back in 1957. The Society now hosts four annual events, a Road Run, a Steam Apprentice Driving Weekend, our main event the Bedfordshire Steam & Country Fayre in September, and a Dinner and Dance in November. The society also gives support and guidance to members who run their own smaller events. Please browse our pages to find out more of who we are and what we do.

Interested in steam engines and their preservation? Why not join BSEPS? Membership is open to everyone, you don't have to live in Bedfordshire to join us.

Monthly Meetings

The Society holds informal monthly meetings at The Clubhouse, Biggleswade Rugby Club, Langford Road, Biggleswade, Beds. SG18 9RA (Google map). Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month from around 7.30 p.m. If it falls on a Bank Holiday we hold the meeting on the second Monday of the month.

These are informal evenings where members and friends get together for a natter and a pint. Non-members are always welcome. Remember, membership is open to everyone, you don't have to live in Bedfordshire to join. During the 'closed-season' months we have guest speakers, film/slide shows, a video library, photo competitions and quiz evenings.
