The Society is involved in activities that promote and encourage the appreciation of steam.

The Society holds informal monthly meetings at the Tavern Bar. The Tavern Bar is situated in the courtyard of Shuttleworth House, Old Warden Park. Meetings are held on the first Monday of each month.
